MIA

Hey to all my fellow bloggers out there,
this past few months have been very very stressful. With my partner in a accident in icu for a month, and then months in rehap. Things are only just kind of getting back to normal.

That's the explanation of my MIA, and believe me I have missed it,
But slowly will I be getting back into my blogging.
And the CTMH blog hops.

I have done a few workshops, and recently re started up my fortnightly card classes, but just have not had time to put up all the goodies we made on here, there may be a influx soon, when I get time too.

For today I'm going to add a part of the workshop for this weekend.
I'm really excited for it.

Isn't it so cute!!!! There is more to go with it, to use as a single gift or split it for a few gifts.
A taster for the workshop plan I will put up next week for this. :)

April Stamp of the Month
Typed Note

TITLE:   Typed Note
CTMH Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our Stamp of the month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from
Tracey Ray - Aussie Ink Blog  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you these two cards and a simple layout which features April Stamp of the Month S1504  available exclusively throughout April for $27 or for just $5 when you spend $75 of product.

I love this "typed' stamp set. It so CUTE and so versatile.
I wanted to be different so I stamped in different colours instead of the traditional black that I find I was most attracted to at first.

I wanted to steer away from the traditional "typed" black and white colour with this card.

Stamped in Hollyhock and Gypsy inks.
I coloured in some Silver glitter trim with my Shinhan markers and used it as an accent around the photo and in the spare space up the top I just felt I needed to fill :)

I couldn't help myself and made a black and white card too.
Card really just speaks for itself, I used Archival black ink, and stamped the type writer. Then the saying inside the Paper.

I pop dotted it up, and down the bottem I used Daisy White ink to stamp the hand and the Happy Birthday sayings on the black. I love love love it :)

And again adding some of the White this time shimmer trim to the top space left. Who does not like a bit of bling bling. :)

Last but not least, is a simple layout I have made for a photo taken for mothers day with my mum.
Its a quite large photo so it takes up most of the page. but I have stamped down the side all the little sayings that are in the Typed Note stamp set that match the theme of my photo.
( xoxoxo, Happy mothers day, I miss you )
All just stamped random down the side, then using Distressed background stamp set I stamped all over the page, around the photo and over the stamped sayings.
(I second step stamped, so I inked up the background stamp, then stamped onto scrap paper and then stamped onto my page so it was not such a bright image, )
Finishing off again with a lovely coloured in strip of silver glitter tape, using the shinhan markers.
I love that I can change the colour to any colour that I am working with. Making the White and silver glitter trim fantastic.

Typed Note is only available until the last day of April 2015 from me.

Thank you so much for reading, and hopefully I can join in on the next blog hop in May 2015.

Cards N Cuppa Class 10th March

Well everyone, I Hope that you had a fantastic weekend,
a new week means a new card class.
Thank you to all that attended today, This card class is available again this Friday night for anyone who is interested :)

This week was 4 cards, two large normal cards and two small ones (two smaller ones making up for the big one)

I will start with the hardest card for today.
A trifold French doors kind of card.

Using Lagoon card I made the card into a tri fold
The Lagoon card was cut at 8.5 x 5.5 Inches (making it when folded a standard card size)
I then used the CTMH scoring board to score the "French door" folds.
Scoring at 2.1 on one side, and then turning it to score at 2.1 on the other side

The panels on the doors are the CTMH blushed papers. Beautiful using either side of the paper.
The panels are cut at 1 3/4 x 5 1/4
The little tags are using colonial card stock, (these were originally rectangles, but because you could not see the lovely brushed papers behind the tags, I put them into little  flaggy tags)
Tags are 2 3/4 x 1.5, cutting down both to make the flags.

Stamped images on the card are from the CTMH stamp set " Your own kind of wonderful"
I used the Hollyhock ink on this one. Make sure when your stamping that two of the images are facing one way and just one is flagging the other way, so they form the card above.

This card was not too easy but def NOT a beginner card.

The next cards are nice and simple, not much to them at all.
One was just a panel of the Brushed papers, silver glittered tape (coloured in with markers)

the card to the left is so lovley, with a pretty little rolled rose on the side.
I am going to do a blog post on how to do them later in the week.

The last card is soooo simple, all I used was the "Chalked up" paper packet, cut into a panel, then tied some of CTMHs new Flaxen extra thick twine.

Using a simple Happy birthday stamped onto colonial white card, and edges inked with Hollyhock.
This card says all it needs to, quick easy and can be done last minute!!!

Thank you so much for reading my blog post for today. Please give me any feedback. OR even just comment. It all matters.

Hello and welcome aboard our Stamp of the month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from
Meryl Cheetham - Mez's Craft Room  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.
Today I would like to share with you this lovely sparkly "you're special" card which features March Stamp of the Month S1503  available exclusively throughout March for $27 or for just $5 when you spend $75 of product

It was a little difficult for me to get some inspiration for this card, but it really did not take much..

Fussy cutting out the frame in the middle of the card, colouring it in and adding some of the teal glitter paper in the middle, then mounting the small saying "You're special" in the middle is a small but lovely touch.

I used the Archival Black and Lagoon Inks only in this card, and coloured in using the Shinhan touch markers of various colours  (which you would change to your own tastes)
I inked the edges for the final touch.

A very simple card, very sparkly and I LOVE this card.

Choose Happy is only available until the last day of March 2015 from me.

Thank you so much for reading, and hopefully I can join in on the next blog hop in April 2015.

Retreats just go by to fast!

Hello fellow scrappers,

I just want to say how annoyed I am at the retreaty world.
Scrapbook retreats or camps or what ever you call them, just DO NOT last long enough.
I still have Soooo much to catch up on scrapping wise. And I only did one section of my photo box.
HELP

Either next scrap camp give me another day, or give me the inspiration and unlimited supplies to scrap faster.

Anyways, cant go back and change time, we are home now. And I still need to unpack all my scrapbooking stuff and put it all way. My craft room is in shambles.
I'm meant to be having a workshop there tomorrow.
Looks like I will be up nice and early cleaning it all away.

Scrap camp was fantastic. We went to a lovely place out in Tahmor called Kiah Ridge.
The accommodation was comfortable, the food was lovely and the scrapping room was massive, with about 40 other ladies there all scrapping, or doing Picture My Life style scrapbooking.
I'm really looking forward to scrapping like the PML, but need to catch up on a few more pages first before I can really get into it.

Scrap camps are so good to see all kinds of different styles of scrapping, and I found this weekend was just full of textured scrapping.
Lots of painting, spraying and printing.
Something I'm all very new at. I did do a page with a stencil and sprays, very uncomfortable for me, but I did it.

Very sad to finish the weekend, but very glad to get home and SLEEP.
Sleeping was basically non existent over the craft weekend. Maybe about 3 hours each night. I really don't think I have still fully recovered yet a week on.

Looking forward to the next weekend in May I think it is.
Too far away for my liking.
I will have to get my fix tomorrow.. Not to late tho.
Gotta get some sleep in there somewhere.

Feburary - Valentines day.

Close to my Heart consultant

This week I have started to do some regular card classes. I usually do workshop pages only.

I do find it really hard to make cards that I don't have to pintrest, or use other ideas.

Well this fine Saturday, I have managed to make my first ever card I'm pretty happy with without use of pintrest and other consultants ideas.

 Items Used:
Trying to be unique and different to what I'm used to I stamped the background using the 2nd step in two step stamping. I stamped the first inked up onto a scrap piece of paper and use the left over ink on the card to stamp the lighter image.
I did this all the way down to the bottom (using stamps from Assorted Edge Flair)
I left space to do the Pixi xoxo.
The darker image stamped (chicken wire type image) was stamped at full ink.

I didn't worry too much about how much the stamp was inked up. I was after the distressed look.
I cut out a 3x3 piece of Pixi card stock for mounting the white 2.75x2.75 white card that I stamped the tree onto.
(inking around the edges of the white with the bamboo ink)

The small "I love you" phrase is just stamped onto a piece of white card.
I distressed the edges with the edge of the scissors before inking them.

I really like the overall look of this card and will be using this for valentines day. Not your usual lovey dovey card. But I think that's why I like it. Its very down to earth.

Below are some cards I made using the February stamp of the month "A Happy Hello"
Very simple but lovely cards.
All three of the cards used today are for a card class this coming Tuesday.

Its now time to take that step

My Passion and love for scrapbooking show, and I now can share my joy with who ever is willing to learn!
Scrapbooking is not just about smiles and achievements, it is not just about embellishments and layouts.
Its about the memories you are capturing for you and your family. For your future generations of Great grandchildren, who can look back and share your life!
Memories should be enjoyed and shared. They can't be if they are shoved in drawers and shoe boxes.
So get them out and put them to good use.
You've invested a lot of time and money into your memories.
Because we want to remember every moment in our lives and the lives of our loved ones, we spend hundreds of dollars on cameras, developing and portrait studios.

Why would you give the final prints shabby treatment.
and more so, learn from someone who is passionate and loves scrapbooking
as much as you are going too!!
